When Evil Stops Hiding
When Evil Stops Hiding
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ…”
—2 Corinthians 4:4
Satan isn’t even hiding anymore.
And somehow… the world still can’t see him.
He used to whisper lies in the shadows.
Now he shouts them in headlines.
In marketing.
In entertainment.
In education.
In culture.
He’s bold.
Brazen.
And unbothered by being obvious—because so few are paying attention.
We’ve called evil entertainment.
We’ve called rebellion freedom.
We’ve called confusion progress.
We’ve wrapped deception in glitter and rebranded sin as “personal truth.”
And while Satan parades around unchecked, hearts grow colder.
Families fracture.
Children wander.
Truth bends until it’s unrecognizable.
And the world?
Still claps.
Still scrolls.
Still shrugs and says, “Well, who’s to say what’s right anymore?”
But make no mistake: there is a right.
And there is a wrong.
And just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s not poison.
We are not just in a culture war—we are in a spiritual one.
And far too many are asleep on the battlefield.
Let it sink in:
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil…”
—Isaiah 5:20
If Satan’s not hiding anymore…
Why are we?
Why are we afraid to speak truth?
Why are we quiet when we should stand?
Why are we more worried about offending people than about honoring God?
Encouragement:
This is not a time to blend in.
This is not a time to stay silent.
We were not saved to be safe—we were saved to be set apart.
To be light in the darkness.
To be salt in a world that’s lost its flavor.
Don’t be afraid to speak truth.
Don’t apologize for righteousness.
And don’t be surprised when evil no longer hides.
Satan may be loud.
But he is not Lord.
Jesus is.
And His truth still sets people free.
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”
—Ephesians 5:11
🪞 Reflection:
Evil doesn’t hide because it doesn’t have to—it thrives in silence. But silence from believers is not neutrality; it’s surrender. God hasn’t called you to blend in—He’s called you to stand out. When you choose courage over comfort, you’re not just resisting evil—you’re revealing Christ.
❓ A Question for You:
Where in your life have you been quiet when you should have spoken truth?
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, give me courage to speak truth in love, even when it’s unpopular. Forgive me for the times I’ve been silent when I should have stood for You. Strengthen me to be light in the darkness and to remember that You—not Satan—have the final word. Amen.
