đź“– Be a Fan of the One Who Knows You
Scripture:
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.” – John 10:14 (NIV)
Also see: “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 (NIV)
Bible Study:
We cheer for people who don’t even know our names.
We follow influencers who don’t follow us back. We pour time, energy, and admiration into celebrities, athletes, entrepreneurs—even strangers on social media—hoping to be seen, valued, or inspired.
We know their favorite colors. Their routines. Their quotes. Their opinions. We repost, comment, support, and celebrate them…
And yet—they don’t even know we exist.
Meanwhile, Jesus—the One who formed you, knows you, and died for you—waits for your attention. He’s not asking for applause. He’s asking for your heart.
You don’t have to fight for His notice. You already have it.
You don’t have to earn His approval. You already have it.
You don’t have to pretend to be someone else. He knows the real you—and He still chose the cross.
It’s not wrong to admire people. But don’t give the loudest cheers of your life to those who wouldn’t even stop to say your name.
Give them to the One who speaks your name with love, who numbers the hairs on your head, who walks with you when no one else sees your struggle.
Be a follower of Jesus, not just a fan of the world.
Because true fulfillment doesn’t come from being noticed by people—it comes from being known by God.
Reflection:
Take a moment to think about who or what has most of your attention right now. Does it reflect your love for Jesus—or your love for approval from others?
Question for You:
Are you giving more of your energy to people who don’t know you… or to the One who does?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for knowing me completely and loving me anyway. Help me to stop seeking validation from people who don’t even know me and instead find my identity in You. Teach me to cheer loudest for the One who gave everything for me. Amen.
Practical Step:
This week, replace one moment of scrolling through someone else’s highlights with reading a passage of Scripture. Write down one truth about God’s love for you and let it remind you that you are fully known.
Invite a Friend:
If this encouraged you today, don’t keep it to yourself—forward this email to a friend who needs the reminder that they are known and loved by Jesus.
