Hide and Seek: Moving From Hiding to Seeking

This is the beginning of a new Bible Study I am currently working on. I pray you never stop seeking God and hiding is no longer an option.

You can’t be found if you never stop hiding… but God already knows where to look.

📖 Scripture

“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
— Jeremiah 29:13

📘 Bible Study

Hide and seek.
I know you’ve played the game.

There is one seeker, and everyone else is hiding.
Some people are really good at hiding. Others wait until the very last second—running to find a place, almost hoping to be caught first.

Growing up, I liked being the hider no one could find.
I was always looking for the best spots. I was small, so I could hide really well.

As time has passed and I’ve reflected on my life, I’ve realized something unsettling:
I’ve always been really good at hiding.

Not just in games—but in life.

Hiding my emotions.
Hiding my dreams.
Hiding my fears.

And then wondering why no one ever came looking for them.

I’ve caught myself asking, Where are the seekers?
Why doesn’t anyone notice?
Why doesn’t anyone find the things I’ve buried so carefully?

I hide my thoughts, then question whether anyone cares—because they don’t seem to find them.
They don’t seem to offer the comfort I’m longing for.

And here’s the truth I’ve had to face:
You can’t be found if you never stop hiding.

If this describes you—if you’ve mastered the art of hiding parts of yourself while quietly hoping someone will notice—then you’re in the right place.

Because this is where we stop being hiders.

This is where we learn how to become seekers.

Not seekers of validation.
Not seekers of approval.
But seekers of God—first.

And from that place of seeking Him, we learn how to let go of fear, uncover buried dreams, and step into the life we were never meant to hide from.

💭 Reflection

What part of your heart or life have you been hiding—even from God?

🙏 Prayer

Lord, You already know every hidden part of me. Give me courage to stop hiding and begin seeking You with my whole heart. Help me trust that being known by You is safe, healing, and life-giving. Amen.

👣 Practical Step

Spend five quiet minutes today asking God to reveal one hidden fear, dream, or emotion you’ve been avoiding—and write it down honestly.

💌 Invite a Friend

If you know someone who feels unseen, share this with them. You never know how God may use it to help them step out of hiding and into healing.
